.... B went off on his residential school trip to Tattonhall on Friday. M took advantage of this and had Jand C for a sleepover.
As usual they were brilliantly well behaved - and on Saturday morning we went to Otterspool for some fun on the playground.

Along came a spider
M just loved La Princess - and was enchanted by the French Scientist and his tale of baby spiders.... so when she heard about this installation at Exchange Flags she couldn't wait to go and see it. It was a wet evening - but best friend J had been for tea and M wasn't going to wait any longer - so we braved the rain....
...and were just bowled over by the beauty of the shining colour changing spider!I think we might have to go again so B can see as well!

Formby Beach
With all the wind yesterday and then a night of heavy rain I was NOT expecting such fabulous weather for Sunday. My car battery had been flattened on Friday - so after lunch we jump started the car and went for a rive to recharge it. We ended up at Formby Point - playing on the beach and eating ice creams in the sun!

I spy hike
Despite a dreadful eweather forcast, the rain held off this afternoon while the Beavers trekked around Moore Nature Reserve on their I-Spy hike. Our group got around in a great time, but we didin't win because we found the wrong bird box (what a swizz!). B got dreadfully upset - he was desperate for a medal - so it was extremly kind of S (husband of our Cololony Leader) to give B his medal :)
