Wales 2009 @ The Greenwood Centre

Uncle R came out to stay with us for the last couple of days of the holiday and really enjoyed our day at the Greenwood Centre

The Great Green Slide is as much fun as ever....

.... M and B had a long session on the giant jumper...

... the bikes are new this year and lots of fun...

... the diggers and sandpit were also a huge hit!

But I think this pair were ready for home!

Wales 2009 - Wild Art @ the RSPB

We spent an afternoon at A's favourite haunt - the RSPB reserve in Conwy. He got some time in the hides, while M and B made wild bugs in the education room

M made a very pretty lady bug...

... while B produced {with a little help from me} an 'Eight Legged Flying Stag Beetle!'

B also made a long King Cobra - his favourite snake at the moment :)

Then it was off to the cafe for more of their excellent homemade cake!

Wales 2009 - Pili Palas

We had a lovely day at Pilis Palas on Angelsey....

... with the inevitable bouncing and playing....

... and the always entrancing butterflies!

We spent a lovely afternoon with Auntie J and Uncle P at Penllyn...

... we talked about her trip to New Zealand and looked at a stack of photos of the children...

...we took the bikes and had a super ride along to Lyyn Sybri...

... and M & B had a great tractor ride with Uncle P!

Wales 2009 - A grey afternoon @ Llandudno North Shore

A chilly afternoon in Llandudno - on a grey beach, under a grey sky next to a grey sea!

But we enlivened in with a hunt for interesting rocks and shells :)

After our bike ride we raced the incoming tide for a play on the beach at Colwyn Bay.

We took the bikes down to Colwyn Bay and rode along the bay and up to the quarry - the weather was great (if a bit windy on the way back!)

Sadly there are no photographs of Auntie J or A on the slides/climbing walls etc, but take my word for it, they attacked the play equipment with gusto!

Wales 2009 @ West Shore, Sunday 9th August

Our first trip down to West shore of the holiday - and we went pretty much every day in the end. Miss M tried out her new swimming costume and had a fine time in the sea.

B declared that it was too cold and went off to the play ground with Auntie J instead - he got wet enough times later on in the week.

We went to Conwy to watch some of the wake boarding at the River Festival - but an even bigger hit was the giant bouncy slide ...

Wales 2009 - Girls Night Out

First of a stack of posts about our summer hols 2009 :)

The first day there, and M and I had a night out with Auntie J seeing the musical Chicago at Venue Cymru

And it was absolutely fantastic - beat West Side Story hands down - and we spent the rest of the holiday singing the songs

Cousins have fun in the sun...

... at Heaton Park!

We met up with Auntie P and little JD at the park for some riotous charging around the playground...

....feeding carrots to the donkeys and ponies....

...getting covered in ice cream...


....gratuitous cuddles...


...hill rolling...

...general sun glasses posing...

....more charging about....

and a ride on the land train!
