Last day of the holidays...

 

...and Mr Ben eats crepes!

Jenson Button - F1 racing in Manchester!

A chance to see Jenson Button hurtling through Manchester in his F1 car - too good to miss!

We got there nice and early and bagged a spot halfway down Deansgate....

 

... which was a good job because by the time Jenson was out and running 

there was a HUGE crowd! 

First he took some competition winners out for a spin in a McLaren MP4-12C 

...then he went off to prep his F1 car...

... while we got rather wet!

Then it was time for the main event - and boy was it worth waiting for!

Al  told me about the amazing noise an F1 car makes after he saw the Monaco GP way back in 2000 - but nothing beats hearing it in real life. 

Jenson punched it as he passed us - and honestly - it was painful (though fantastic!)

Noise and rain and smoke - FANTASTIC!

We went to Wales - hoping to go on the beach...

... but it rained...

.... and rained...

....then rained some more....

... so we went swimming at Llandudno pool instead....

...and eventually we saw the sun!

Late August Trip to Dunham Massey....

... it was a gorgeous day, Auntie Jude came with us to Dunham Massey...

... where we walked in the deer park...

... where we climbered over fallen trees...

... where we got really close to the deer ...

...tonight we rode to Hough Green and back - only one scary moment with Mr Ben and a road - so good to be able to all go out together.

Bonus Little Miss Katharine Time!

After the amazing Chameleon Circuit signing - 

Miss Megs and I  went to see Little Miss Katharine!

We shared lots of "Mr Men" stories...

... and Miss Megs taught her how to "faint!"

When Miss Megs met Chameleon Circuit

So... like many other 13 year old girls...

... Miss Megs likes loves the band Chameleon Circuit ... 

{Trock Band - a lovely combo of music and Dr Who!}

.... and of course she adores Alex Day (Nerimon) and Charlie McDonnell (Charlieissocoollike) ...

{They make videos for You Tube - come on - keep up at the back!}

When they announced that they were doing a signing at the Who Shop in Upton Park -in the middle of the school holidays - then the chance for a combined fangirl/cousin visit presented.

East London and back in a day is quite a trip - but SO worth it!

Bellowhead @ Gawsworth Hall

A train trip to Macclesfield with Miss Megs and Mr Ben - 

- to meet up with My Mister after he finished work.

We had tea at the Fools Nook - then headed to Gawsworth Hall for a fantastic treat - 

a gig by the wonderful Bellowhead!

A beautiful location for a fantastic gig!

The gig was fabulous - just wish I could have danced! As the sun set, and the fairy lights came on it was magical!

Have to see them again soon - Manchester Academy or Pacific Road in Birkenhead?

Late night walk....

... to see the moon... 

...it was big and beautiful tonight... 

...worth a stroll over to the bongs for pictures.

Playing in Liverpool

The plan was - Go to Tate Liverpool to play in the family Magritte workshop - sadly wee get there to discover it opens tomorrow (apparently they need 2 days to set up - should have got a primary school teacher to do it - I can set up an art session in my lunch hour!) - should have checked the website first!

So - instead - we found new SuperLambBananas...

... explored the new Museum of Liverpool...

...and then headed over to Liverpool One.

At the end of the day....

.... I take him out to climb off some energy!

He chose the low ropes course @ Spike Island

We All Ride in a Yellow Duckmarine!

Determined that the last weeks troubles wouldn't spoil a day out to Liverpool - Pizza for lunch - the cinema to see Mr Poppers Penguins - and then a ride on

 The Yellow Duckmarine!

It tours the city by road...

... then heads down the ramp to splash into the docks!

I took the tour years ago - ( Miss Megs was 7 and Mr Ben 4) - 

but this was the first time for My Mister.

Lots to learn and lots of fun!
