A Streetcar named Desire

To take my mind off Megs departure -
I had an amazing theatre evening with my wonderful friend Kathie -

We saw the divine Maxine Peake
{our new best friend - see pic below}
in A Streetcar named Desire

It had been completely sold out -but when the set was finalized a few tickets were realised -
and honestly - I think we had the best view in the theatre!

And then she was a student....

Sunday 18th September 2016

In the morning we all went to Church as usual -

but afterwards we went home to pack up the car -

and by half past three we were at Megan's new home -
the Endcliffe student village at the University of Sheffield.

We unpacked - I helped her make her bed -
we took a few photographs -
and by 5 o'clock she had kicked us out -
ready for her University Adventure.

We drove home over the hills -
full of pride and excitement  and just a few tears.

Just over eighteen years -and she's grown up and moved out -
it barely seems possible.

Have the most amazing time Megan <3 font="">

Watersports Camp

Ben spent the weekend with other Explorers from Aquila at Tatton Watersports Camp

So - admittedly he was pacing on top of a mound when we arrived to pick him up -
but by all accounts he "pitched in"
and he seemed to have had a good time declaring "I only fell in twice..."

King Lear at the RSC

And another King Lear

We've seen this play so many times over the years -
And I do declare that perhaps I now finally understand it!

It was a day trip to a rainy Stratford -
Megs last full weekend before she leaves for Uni.

Another hit from Mr Sher and the RSC -
Pagan and powerful
With brilliant show stealing turns from Edgar and Edmund
A fitting send off for Miss Megs!

First Day of Year 11

So here's the story...... Ben took ICT as a GCSE option.
When he went into Year 10 his personalised timetable threw up a problem -
the ICT classes clashed with Humanities.
Wade Deacon solved this by teaching him ICT 1:1.
This meant that by the summer term he had finished all his coursework to the best of his ability. His teacher suggested he should take the exam this summer -
he practiced with her and took the exam in June.
Today was the first day back at school and he got the result -
a C in the exam and the final grade will be higher with the coursework added in.
He is so happy with himself - and I am so very proud of him.

Last Week of the Summer Holiday - Vardre

The end of summer - back to school on Monday -
then in two weeks Megs is off to Sheffield -
We'll be back at the caravan in October Half Term -
but Megs won't be with us.
{she wasn't with us today as she'd taken the train home
so she could go to one last party with her Sixth Form friends}

Us? - taking in every last ray of sunshine while we can

It's a Chocolate Digestive Biscuit Ice Cream cone!

I don't have an ice cream every time Ben goes to the Looking Glass Parlour for a -
Strwaberry ice cream and nutell with strawberry sauce crepe
{otherwise known as "a Benjamin crepe"}

But - who could turn down a Chocolate Digestive Biscuit Ice Cream cone?
