Elbow at the Echo - Three Days Like This

Oh - I booked for the fabulous Elbow in huge expectation -
but as the date drew near I was in a state of "gig anxiety"

Leaving Megan and Jamie in charge of Benjamin
{first night with no official babysitter!}
we got the the venue at 6pm
and joined the queue for the standing area.

It worth the early start - we got a better position even than in Manchester -
right at the end of the runway.

The end result was that a gig attended by 12,000 people felt intimate.

The Night Will Always Win reduced us to tears,
Grounds for Divorce was musical exctasy
and One Day filled us {yet again} to overflowing with love.

Did it match up to the the last two gigs?
Perhaps there wasn't quite the same connection with the crowd as in Manchester -
but for us at the front it was everything we could have hoped for and more.

Afterwards we met Kathie and Iain for a chat
which rounded off another gerat evening perfectly.
