While Mr Ben saw the Olympic torch....

... shortly after it crossed the Silver Jubilee Bridge....

... I was with the rest of my school
(The Nursery to Year Six - even the cleaners and the lollipop man went along)
at a VERY wet Knowsely Safari Park...

Luckily the Giraffes didn't mind the rain...

... and the sealine show was lots of fun.

I even got to see a (sort of) torch relay!

Sat on the stairs

Red White and Blue...

... for the Scout Group Jubilee Party

Gauntlet Afternoon Show

After Mr Ben's kite flying session at Tatton Park,
we popped over to Gaunlet for the ir 3pm show.

New to the flying show is their stork - who needs quite a space to land!

Rocky the owl was too fast in the air for me to catch a good shot today...

... though I got some great shots of the White Tailed Eagle!

The show ended, as it often does, with the Red and Black Kites all feeding at the same time....

.... and between countless shots of empty sky
I actually managed to catch a few of the kites on the wing!

Waterfighting at Grandma's

Still sunny - still hot (it's been hot for a week now!)

Time to waterfight at Gma's - with remarkably few tears

Afterwards there were waterballoons to be thrown
and Miss Megs demonstrated her cartwheeling and handstanding skills.

Cycling in the Sun

The hot weather continues - 10am and cycling to Church

Sister Act

Al has wanted to see this musical since it opened in London a couple of years ago -
I got the tickets for his birthday present - and it was the campest - discoest night imaginable! Lots of fun - lots of laughs - and lots and lots of sequins!

Kite flying at Tatton Park

A hot afternoon at Tatton Park -

and all Mr Ben wanted to do was to fly another of the kites he made at school.
There wasn't really enough wind - but he kept trying!

Friday 25 May 2012

At the end of a hot day...

... all Mr Ben wants to do is to sit quietly on top of Gma's climbing frame,
flying the kite he made at school.

Ready for the jubilee?

Mr Ben tries out his new hat...

Tuesday 22 May 2012

Al took the day off work...

.... and had a great birthday!

I escaped from work for an hour over lunch - we ate at the new Pesto in  Pub
(which despite several changes of name over the years, will forever be The Black Horse to me)

The food (italian tapas) was just fabulous!

Al collected Mr Ben from school - had a game of basketball at church and a waterfight in Gma's garden - then when Muss Megs and I got out of our respective schools, we all met up for tea at Frankies and Bennys

Happy 45th Birthday Al!

Mr Ben gets his Silver Chief Scout Award

Mr Ben is really proud to get his Chief Scout Silver Award -
that's a lot of work for a cub with ASD, ADHD, specific learning difficulties and
 fine/gross motor skill problems!

We are so proud of him.

Miss Megs would like to point out that she earned her Silver Award long ago...

Thursday 17 May 2012

One lovely day ....

.... so after tea we took the bikes out for a ride oer to Nana's in the evening sun.

Next morning - and it's back to rain again....

Church Anniversary 2012

Mr Ben sang with the children in the morning service

Miss Megs had a year off performing as she is now too old to sing with the children
- but decided she wasn't old enough to sing with the adults.

She did, however, take the chance to wear her best dress for church!

Sunday 13 May 2012

Our night with the Phantom

For Jude's 40th birthday - Miss Megs and I went to see the fabulous
Phantom of the Opera at the Palace in Manchester.

We ate at GBK in Spinningfields, had coffee on Deansgate, then walked through the evening sun to the theatre.

We had great seats in the stalls - right under the chandelier

And the show - just amazing - packing such an emotional punch - the singing was magnificent - the new sets clever - the whole thing visually stunning. I f I could see it again tomorrow I would!
