Easter Sunday 2013

As usual -
 Church in the morning, Gma's for dinner, and then an Easter Egg hunt in the garden.

However this year we had the remains of last weeks SnowBear (doubling as a SnowBunny)

 Plus I forgot to bring the Easter Basket - so old ice cream tubs had to do instead!

Robins, Squirrels and Gulls....

.... plus some unexpected sun and a little warmth -

- a lovely little walk around Victoria Park.

On Good Friday...

... we shared the Easter story at church -
 and made this rather fabulous banner!

On Palm Sunday Morning

Like most years we waved our green streamers and sang Jesus Rode a Donkey into Town

Unlike most years after the service the children played in the snow!

Are we sure it's Holy Week and not Chirstmas?

Our Giant Snow Bear!

There was a  LOT of snow at Gma's -
 so we embarked on our biggest snowman project yet

It turned out not to be a snowman at all - but rather a 6 foot plus tall Snow Bear!

Megs christened it "Butress the Bear"

Ben favoured "Bear Bert"

"Discussions" regarding which is the correct name are ongoing!

Saturday Morning Sleding

Ok - so maybe I've had enough of the snow.

But Ben hasn't.

Saturday morning he was up early and we were on the bongs for some sleding by 9.30am
{Meanwhile Al and Megs decided that an extra hour in bed was a better plan!}

{yet another unflattering hat shot - there have been lots this winter}

Ben the Waiter

Ben and waiting - they don't usually go together!

But he waited tables for the Scout Meal -
and refilled our glasses with orange juice/apple juice/"fake wine!"

The reward was eating the left over chocolate covered strawberries at the end of the meal!

The 2nd Day of Spring?

This time last year we were playing in the sun

Today? The snow is back...

.... and I'm not even excited about it. Go away snow! I want the spring!

Mothering Sunday at My Mum's

We had planned to go Easter Egg hunting in Manchester -
but it was  cold and horrible (and Ben seemed to be starting with another cough) -
so we decided to stay home - and then ended up having lunch at my Mum's.
We had a quiet afternoon talking - and to be honest that made it the perfect Mother's Day!

During a week in March

Five days in school
{Four for Ben - he was off on Friday with a tummy upset}
I visited Ben and Meg's old junior school to do my "Rocks" talk
{Three times to three different classes - they had so many good questions}
Shell Group - Judo - Explorers - Scouts
Tree climbing after school at Gma's

And the cinema with Jude on Saturday
{it was pretty scary for a PG!}

Judo Competition (not quite the Olympics...)

Register at 10am -

finally fight at 2pm-

but it was worth the wait.

He did his best and fought hard -

and ended up with a bronze medal!
