Slytherin

Megs went to the Harry Potter studio tour (again!) with a bunch of friends -
{it was Jamie's 18th birthday trip}
While she was there she bought a new Gryffindor scarf.

Full of the joys of all things Hogwarts she got home she saw the Pottermore had a new sorting test -
so tried it out and was rather shocked to be sorted in Slytherin!

I had a go straight after -
and it transpires I'm a Slytherin too!

We both went through the usual stages of anger, denial, bargaining...
 and have arrived at a place of acceptance of our plotting ways!

Forget-Me-Not

Megs and her friends presented their A Level Theatre Studies practical exam -

A touching piece about Alzheimer's that they
wrote, directed, lit, costumed, scored and yes, performed, themselves.

Ok - so I'm just mum BUT - it was o professionally done; a group of teenage girls showing such empathy and eliciting strong emotions from the audience. I'm so very proud of them all!

When the rain stops.....

.....time to get out for a Saturday afternoon.
We had lunch at Fryers Garden Centre
then went to see the birds next door at Gauntlet.

January......

Lots of things have happened since the New Year
But I don't seem to have pictures of any of them!

After much panic and dithering I submitted my first Open University coursework
- I got 78% which reassured me greatly.

Ben  started at Aquila Explorer's -
and so far is loving it,
He's also had a couple of days programming robots on a school project
{2 days at a high school in Bootle - no uniform and no PE lessons - Ben declared it 'relaxing'}

Megs got her mock results {v good} and has hopefully finished her EPQ essay.
She's still not told UCAS which offer she's going to take up
{York, Warwick, Birmingham or Sheffield}
though Sheffield is still leading the running.
Her A Level Theatre practical exam is coming up soon.

Other than that - it's been cold dark and usually raining.
Al's buried  with work.
I'm buried with work and OU studies -
oh and another 9 barely 3 year olds have joined Nursery
Fair to say January is NOT my favourite month!

Cuddling Baby Daniel

Most Sundays, Megs spends her time after Church, cuddling Daniel!

New Years Day with Leo

We started the New Year with a trip back to Manchester -
First to collect Megs from Abbie's house -
And then on to Uncle Chris's house for a family party.

Baby Leo was the centre of attention -
he'd been ill for a few days, and wasn't his usual cheery self -
But he was still gorgeous!

Into the Woods on New Years Eve

"Sometimes people leave you
Halfway through the wood
Do not let it grieve you
No one leaves for good
You are not alone
No one is alone"

Goodbye 2015

 The last evening was taken up with the traditional trip to the Royal Exchange -
this year there was a fabulous production of "Into the Woods"

Afterwards we dropped Megs at Abbie's party in Prestwich -
collected Ben from Gma's -
and saw in midnight in at home -
{Ben loves the fireworks on TV}

Welcome 2016!
