A Giant Straw Dalek?

Yes our final day trip of the summer holidays was to Snugbury's Ice Cream Farm
to see a 35 foot tall dalek!
{and to eat some amazing ice cream}

The dalek moved - it talked -

Kathie and I loved it
Megs and Eleanor loved it
Benjamin looked at it and declared "Been there done that"
{his latest phrase}

Then we ate the rather fablous ice -
and called in at a particularly lovely pub for tea/coffee/more chatting time.

And that was it for the summer holidays -
yes there's one more weekend before I go back to school -
and the kids have Monday and Tuesday off -
but mostly we're done -
and a giant straw dalek was dertainly the best way to end!

Go Power Rangers!

 We discovered queues longer than Disneyland -

But Ben was DELIGHTED
 { "I'll never stop smiling" }
to meet the Mega Force Power Rangers at the Trafford Centre!

A Final Bank Holiday

Last summer Bank Holiday of the year

Our last day at the caravan

Richard and Fiona came to visit us
{though I seem to have failed to take any photos of them}

The sky was blue - the sun shone - and it was HOT

We went to Conwy and sat in the sun on the quay eating chips

This summer has just gone on and on -
but this time next week I will be back in school-
Sieze the Last of Summer!

Geology Field Trip

In the morning - Llechwedd Slate mine
a trip down the deep mine followed by lunch in the sunshine

The afternoon - a nostalgic visit to my old uni mapping area
then a drive through the hills of Snowdonia with afternoon tea in Beddgelert.

Walking along the river at Betws-y-Coed

A gentle walk along the river to Miners bridge to try out their new boots -
{ size 4 for Megs - size 7 for Ben! }
