Three weeks ago we were playing in the snow
Now the daffodils are finally out -
as is the cherry blossom.
Today was the first day of the summer term-
girls in their gingham dresses and boys in shorts.
The children played on the school field -
coats abandoned.
It was warm and it was lovely.
And perhaps this long, long winter is finally over.
