Martin Mere

Since getting his camera back A has been keen to go birding and today was our first chance to get up to Martin Mere. The BBC has been filming AutumnWatch there this week - so the place was full of lights, cables and an awful lot of outside broadcast trucks (they don't use that many to film a rugby league match!). Sadly(?) Bill and Kate were nowhere to be seen - perhaps 4 days in Ormskirk was enough for them? A went off to the hides whilst the children had their usual wild time in the adventure playground. We met up for lunch - always fabulous at Wetlands Trust cafes - and then went for a walk all together. B was chased by a black swan and we found the new Beaver enclosure - though the beavers were hiding away. A stop at the gift shop saw us acquire a cuddly beaver and highland cow - as well as a christmas present for Auntie K. Another lovely Saturday.

B still showing off that gap in his teeth.

With 'Bull' - B's new highland cow!

Windswept hair!

A with his repaired camera

Can't blog about Martin Mere and not have a duck shot - LOL!
