Les Miserables

Leaving a spotty Mr B with Gma, A, Miss M and myself went to the Lowry to see the
25th anniversary tour of Les Mis.

A and I last saw it in 1991 - and goodness, has staging moved on since then. It looked absolutely magnificent - physical set, lighting, the moving back projection. All perfect, and they made the story telling so much clearer.

As ever the music is wonderful - to be honest I had forgotten just how wonderful it all is.

The cast were all excellent - maybe at times when the whole chorus sang there could have been a little bit more - but it is a touring production - and the soloists were all spot on - Gareth Gates as Marius was quite the revelation!

It was fabulous to take Miss M along - she'd heard most of the songs before - and she followed the whole thing beautifully.
