Back on his Bike

Having read this blog post by my friend Amy in New York - we decided that it was time to try Mr Ben on his bike again.

He cracked riding on 2 wheels when he was 8 - and a couple of summers ago he had lots of fun on his bike - at the park, at Tatton   and at Colwyn Bay

But last year it all went wrong - Mr Ben became convinced that he would crash his bike - he cried, screamed and refused point blank to ride. In the end he decided that it was ok to ride on the big grass field at the park - but even there he kept panicking and falling off. After a couple of stressful outings we gave up for the summer.

So this evening My Mister pumped up the tyres of the neglected bikes and Mr Ben pushed hi bike to the park - where he rode with far more confidence! He was clearly happy and enjoyed the experience once again!  He didn't fall at all - and after a few circuits of the grass he agreed that next time he would ride on the "wide path".

But even better - on the way home he decided that he would try riding on the pavement, and he peddled over half the way home! Such a step forward! It looks like rain tomorrow - but we will try riding again on Thursday.
