RIAT 2012

Al has been longing to go to the Royal International Air Tattoo for years -

I bought us tickets as his Christmas Present 6 months ago.

A lot has happened since then - now his mum is on oxygen 24 hours a day, and as we queued into the Oxfordshire site on Saturday morning, Al's brother phoned to say his dad had been taken ill and was in hospital. There was nothing we could realisiticly do at that point - so we spent the day at RAF Fairford doing our best to enjoy the wonderful show before rushing home in the evening.

 There are a lot of much better photos on the cameras - but for now here are some of my droid/instagram shots.

The morning was bright as we looked around the static displays.

We had seats in the Grandstands for some fabulous displays including the
 Red Arrows and the Avro Vulcan.

And yes, the inevitable rain arrived mid afternoon as we went to see the B2 Stealth Bomber

I would love to go again, under less stressful circumstances of course!

{Will post again when I have time to look through the photographs properly!}
