Another new experience courtesy of MIF13 -
The wonderful Maxine Peake at the Albert Hall
performing the Shelley poem "The Masque of Anarchy" -
which was written following the Peterloo Massacre
(just feet from the site of the Hall)
Performed without notes - in a candle lit hall - mesmerizing!
And those words - never more relevant -
'Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number -
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you -
Ye are many - they are few.'
And those words - never more relevant -
'Rise like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number -
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you -
Ye are many - they are few.'
